As said in the Lore under Vampyres, They have the abillty to hide in the shadows. Deffinetly good for not attracting attention of hostile races

I've had an idea for shadows in a game for a long time, a quite unique one. I'm hesitant to share it though.

I'm wondering, are we still creating the descriptions? I don't really feel comfortable doing so, as I might want to see it go a certain way, and no one like that direction. I mostly just like adding onto ideas, or editing them. So i'm kinda stuck, desiring more information of which I don't want to give =P

My first post on the forum, and thou I've tried to read as much about the game as I can I haven't got a realy clear picture yet. So if my question is stupid, please bare with me! The same goes for that english isn't my native language, but I don't think so many of you understands swedish! Wink

Shadow skill: this raises a question about the world order and aligment. Will the world be black and white, good vs evil, lawful/chaos etc. Thus the diffrent skills will only be available to the ones with the right aligment? Or would it be possible to mix, but some classes/races would have more advantages using the skills?

Is a skill good or bad? In my eyes it depends how it's used! For an example the classic hero/villian Jack of Shadows in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy novell by the same name by Roger Zelazny, draws his powers from the shadows and sometimes uses them for thievery and sometimes for good.

Thus can a skill warp/form a wielder to change his or hers aligment towards good or evil. Just a like a jediknight in KOTOR (Star Wars: Knight of the republic) if you uses the light side forces more often you get stronger in skills based of that aligment, but weaker in the darker skills. And vice a versa.

So a healer that uses his healing powers gets stronger in that, but his smiting powers lessens.

Well this ended up in a question of game mechanics, and might not be suited here.

Shadow is more deception than good or evil. Its the hiding of things, the obsuring of ones sight as well as making things unknown

Skills are not limited by races. but... skills do have concequences for certain races. Like a Daishar takes major penalties if they ever learn shadow, blood, or any of the "corrupted skills"

Well it could.. For instance.. if you are trained in "blood" it will be hard to find a trainer to teach you "heart" so You could find yourself in a quandry.
