-- Exchange between Joseta and Wargin before their last battle

Trog

Keywords:

Category: Races

Description:

A race of cave-dwellers, they are known for their berserker like attacks and have been known to wield the forces of the elements themselves, namely fire, water and earth. Standing on average just 4 and half feet tall, they rarely wear much clothing, preferring to cover their bodies with tattoos that they claim impart power. If disarmed, Trogs will often resort to biting and even clawing to defeat their enemies. Trogs wield elemental forces in battle and as they gain experiance can wield more powerful elements. They use stone weapons but can imbue the weapons to be stronger and sharper than anything forged. In battle they will often go into berserker tances where they ignore their wounds and attack their enemy relentlessly. When they come out of their trance the effects of their wounds catch up to them. Often Trog warriors will collapse from their wounds after battle. Trogs gain the ability to activate their tattoos which give them protection and abilities. Younger Trogs gain armour from their tattoos. Bonuses to their stats are gained as they age.

Homeland:

The Trog inhabit the caves and foot hills that dot the Spine mountain range on Gradorh. While the humans and Cera consider the Trog primitive the Trogs are capable of complex structures but choose to be closer to nature and avoid artificial structures and mechanics. Trog caves are never elaborate, they prefer small natural caves with rough hewn tables, benches, and rooms.

Society:

Trogs have a complex social structure where both male and female are treated equal and all decisions are made by a council of elders. They join in multiple marital contracts and its not unheard of marriages between 4 or more members. Raising of young is done by elders of the family and male and female share in the support of the family in both defense and providing food. Trogs are cautious and slow to befriend and will fight at the slightest perceived wrong. They are a proud race and their word is their life. A trog who goes back on his word is disgraced and considered an outcast from his tribe.

History:

Trogs distinguished themselves in the God Wars as a hardy and fierce band. Often used as shock troops, bands of Trog would use their elemental powers to drive themselves deep into the enemy forces. After the sundering of the world and the departure of the Valhyre, the Togs made their way to Gradorh, the mountain ranges there were filled with natural caves which the Trogs found inviting. They keep to themselves and do not interfer in the business of other races. Only 3 times since the God wars have the council of elders lead the Trogs\s into war. Once was when the Trogs clashed with Bastlur when the Bastlurs tried setting up a new holding in the same mountains the Trogs called home. The Bastlurs learned that the Trogs were not going to be chattle easily.
