"Takhib's lifeforce was sweeter than honey, your's will be even sweeter." - "Let's see how you drink without a head!" -- Exchange between Joseta and Wargin before their last battleJargKeywords:
Category: Races
Description: The Jargs are often called walking rocks. They stand between 4 to 5 ¢ feet tall and are made of rock. There are rumors of great Jargs that stand over 10 feet tall but no one out side the Jargs has seen one. Their skin texture is of rough stone with the coloring of what ever stone they spring from. They are strong and have the ability to control the forces of the earth. The tough hide of the Jarelels offers them natural armour and is highly resistant to piercing and slashing attacks. Jargs also have resistance to extreme heat and while water tends to slow them down, they are not harmed by it. They are slow in movement but can gather speed over long distances Homeland: inhabit the desert plains of Jarel away from the other races. Jargs mark their territory by stacking boulders into large totems at the boundaries of their land Society: Jargs do not build structures of any kind and live in tight nit family groups. Family groups consist of matriarchal families of several generations. While family groups normally stay to themselves, family groups will join together to defend their homelands.. Being outcasted from their family unit is the greatest punishment that can be bestowed on a Jargs. Because of the close family units that Jargs live in, they gain bonuses when in the accompany of another from their family . Jargs can create a family totem. When they construct a family totem they use parts of themselves to build a pillar that grants blessings to those of that family. Blessings are based on the size of the totem and the number of different Jargs that contributed to it. Family units range in size from 5 to 400 and are composed of direct decendants of the Matriarch. Matriarchs of each family meet once a year in the great gathering to decide on actions that effect the whole race. Great gatherings have been called more often but only in the grave of circumstances. It is at the gatherings that those accused of crimes against their family or the Jargs as a whole are brought before the gathering and tried. It is only at a gathering that the grave punishment of exile is handed out.History After the first God wars, the Jargs were given pardon and allowed to settled away from the other races to live in peace. The great desert they settled in was beyond the known lands of the time. They lived in peace for many generations untill after the second God wars when the humans fled the destruction in the east and settled in the plains on the south edge of the desert. At first the Jargs hid themselves from the presence of humans but as the humans expanded conflict would arise from time to time. The humans of Geia and the Jargs fought many skirmishes as each mistrusted the intents of the other. Jargs are very territorial, they want to be left alone and the past has shown that the only way that is to be, is to keep outsiders from their lands.Jargs will attack and destroy those they think are intruding into their rightful homelands. This has lead to many confrontations over the years. Most notably, the conflict with the kingdom of Geia. Explorers from Geia wandered into the barren wastes the Jargs call home. The jargs attacked the explorers. A lone survivor made his way back to civiliazation and reported what happen. Retailation by the humans occured, back and forth the fighting went. Humans striking at Jarg, Jarg striking at human settlements. It was not until generations later that King Deiaus declared the barren wastes sole territory of the jargs and no human would enter there. This uneasy truce has lasted till present day.Foolish humans will still wander into Jarg territory, in hopes of finding riches that are rumored to be in the wastes. Jargs exiled from their family units will sometimes find their way into human lands. In these cases, once the initial trust is established , the outcast Jarg get along fine in the human lands.
