Pain is the root of all things, everything a person does is either toward the avoidance of pain or to the creation of pain, whether it be for themselves or others.

Category: Human based

Vampyres are a powerful corruption of humans that have become immortal and live on the life force of living creatures. Reclusive, vampyres are shunned and hunted by many of the other races because of their need to feed on life force. Vampyres are immortal in that they never physically age further past adulthood. While they can be killed it is extremely hard to kill one and their complete body must be destroyed by intense fire. Vampyres can be incapacitated by beheading and keeping the head and body separated. Vampyres seem to rise from the dead if their head and body are rejoined.

Vampyres evolve in three stages, youth, adult and elder. During the youth stage vampyres are physically strong and quick but otherwise resemble pale skin humans...

As they age to adult, vampyres gain the ability to shift shape to animal form. Adult vampyres retain human features such as their eyes ears and nose, but their fangs grow longer and their hands and feet become more claw-like. Adult vampyres also gain power in controlling weather and the elements.

Elder vampyres have been corrupted so much they lose much of their human features and look more like large gargoyles. The mental powers of an Elder vampyres have increased to devastating effect. Elder vampyres are rare mainly because of the actions of other races hunting the vampyres.

Vampyres look upon the other races as a source of nourishment and will only help others if there is something to gain from it. While vampyres will avoid each other it has been known that vampyres will fight each other with the winner consuming the life force of the loser. Rare times Vampyres have formed together to hunt Daishar.

Vampyres originated as a corruption by the dark Valhyre Mearus during the war of the gods. Orginially created as a weapon against the other Valhyre, vampyres were given the ability to impart part of their life force to others. This life force corrupts the victim much as an infection spreads. When the life force is transferred the victim gains the memories of the vampyre that created it and comes under its control. In this way vampyres could propogate and grow in numbers. Since the God Wars, Vampyres will often take a victim and infect them only to put the victim under spells that keep the newly created vampyre in stasis in the case that the original vampyre is destroyed. This way vampyres are able to maintain themselves even if their original body is destroyed.

Vampyres derive their strength from the life force of others as such the abilities of a vampyre revolve around draining this life force from others and imbuing it into themselves. Vampyres also have the ability to build up a blood bank; a vampyres blood bank is a source of power for the vampyre. It is built up by draining the blood from victims. Vampyres obtain this blood by draining those they defeat in battle. The larger the blood bank the more powerful the vampyre.
