Valhyre has reached a milestone, not a large one in the scale of things but a milestone none the less.
Valhyre has reached a milestone, not a large one in the scale of things but a milestone none the less. Today, Valhyre is one year old. It was one year ago today I sat down and wrote out the design doc to the Valhyre project. When I sat down at my computer desk and started putting my thoughts to words I really didn’t think I would go on to actually starting the project. I was bored with the current market and wanted to put my ideas down on paper to see how they stacked up to what the market offered. As I dwelled further into the design docs I realized there was nothing stopping me from seeing the dream becoming reality. So I sat down took a long look at the resources out there and jumped in with both feet. Duck’s Den Productions Inc, the company behind the Valhyre project was founded a few weeks later. Purchase of assets from the former Wish project was completed and Valhyre was off and running. Several different options for system engines have been evaluated and progress is occurring. Our proof of concept tech demos has been well received and we look forward to the moment when we can remove the curtains and show the community all we have been working on. We have been closed lip and holding our cards close for a reason. We hate over promising and under delivering. Valhyre is not being developed by your typical development company, in the typical fashion. Which I feel fits Valhyre as it will not be your typical game. With Player vs Player combat designed as part of the game from the ground up, a no level character progression system, a world where land can be fought over and held and where a character’s actions mean something in the long run, Valhyre will offer an experience few have previously offered. This past year has moved slower than I originally anticipated, but a lot is happening in the background. I want to comment on the great community that has started to grow here. I want to thank everyone for being part of the community and for everything you have contributed. It has made this all worth while.
